With it you can remotely edit the registry using your desktop keyboard and mouse as opposed to using your stylus/keypad on your PDA or phone. It's built as a Windows application which has been modeled after Regedit (with a few extra features such as favorites, value size, column sorting etc...) It has been tested with my PocketPC and Smartphone on Windows XP/2000 and requires the .NET Framework 1.1 to run."</i><br /><br /><img src="http://www.smartphonethoughts.com/images/Temporale-2005-0228-MobileRegistryEditor.jpg" alt="User submitted image" title="User submitted image"/> <br /><br />This is a desktop based registry editor for your Windows Mobile device - both Pocket PC and Smartphone. ;) This version adds support for creating/deleting, and renaming keys and values, among other things. If you're looking for a single registry editor for all of your Windows Media needs, you might want to check this out.

I have found the trouble with these external Registry Editors is that they are slow. I have been using the built in one that comes with Resco Explorer and it does a fine job. I have not tried this one though. If anyone does I'd like to know how well it performs.

Really? I prefer an external one. I find it's faster and easier to navigate to the node I want. And once you're there, it's quick to create a new key or value.

I wish someone would create a desktop tool that allowed you to configure your email accounts. :(

I should have been more specific, I think the searches take much longer. You don't find that to be the case?

Mike you passed 3000!!! We didn't even have a beer!

Oh yeah! Check it out. I was going to return to that other thread and make the big post over there. Guess I missed that. Oh well.

Back to my question!

I can't really say. I don't preform enough searches, and I haven't used a Smartphone reg editor in such a long time, that I just can't comment on the speed issues.

That was my only issue, other than that the desktop version is easier to work with.

Hey Jerry,

I agree that search can be slow when performed over ActiveSync. I've been working on a solution which should make searching as fast as using a reg editor on the device itself (maybe a tick slower). So far the results have been positive and the faster search feature should be ready by the next version (1.2)

Mike. I've been creating an interface for common tasks such as adding a startup program and re-ordering the start menu. Sounds like an interface to configure email would fit right in, I'll keep it mind.

That would be huge! Setting up mailboxes can be so tedious. :(

I take it you haven't had any trouble with the Resco 'Find' function? I ask because I had occasion to use that for the first time on my mpx220 this am and initiating the Find locked the thing up tight as can be. Had no choice but to yank the battery and reboot.

The tool being discussed here is not a later version of SmartiOne, is it? (Never mind...answered this one myself).

No I never had a problem with it. This is different than Smartione.
