Verizon/Sprint Rumor

Has anyone heard anything about Verizon merging with Sprinit? I heard that Sprint and Nextel were but also now heard from not a very reliable source that Verizon is going to finish deal before Sprint has the chance to finalize everythig. Is this true or a rumor?

It's just a rumor until someone announces that it's actually going to take place. People have been speculating for several years based on the fact that both VZW and Sprint run the same type network.

Remember that Verizon and Verizon Wireless are separate entities, with Verizon and Vodafone owning VZW.
