Service Indicator Changes

Have those of you like myself with Cingular noticed that the Service Indicator sometimes will change to "Cingular Extended" in areas where it shouldn't? I have seen AT&T a few times so I'm guessing this is the same thing. Part of the changeover.

When I was in the NYC area( I live in San Diego) I noticed this quite a bit. I also noticed that many times I was on T-Mobile as well. By turning the phone off and on I could get it to select different networks in some areas of the city as well. My concern was they would bill me extra for roaming on other networks but have not seen this yet. All of this was with an MPX220

Yes I was worried about the billing too when I first saw this. So far i haven't seen anything strange on my bills.
