Well, don't rely on them to do the smart-thinking for you. Smart phones will be the hot-tech property of 2004 and the choices will be dazzling. But the complexity of the market means a degree of homework is necessary to make the right choice.

Fashion and fad play a major role in the mobile phone market. Most buyers will separate with cash for models that look good, regardless of whether they are the most suitable or provide the greatest number of functions. Design will remain the pre-eminent reason for purchase but technology will become an increasingly important consideration, especially for those who want to use the handset for work and need support from their IT department."

You know what pisses me off? I was all set to buy an MPx200 as soon as my Alltel contract ran out, and then someone had to go spouting off about a next generation MPx200. Now I've got to wait for it to come out and suffer with my freakin' StarTac!

I know there will always be something bigger and better on the horizon, but if there's a chance I can get a phone with WM03 on it, I'll wait a couple more months. Of course, maybe I'll just pick up an unlocked E200 on eBay.
