So, according to the AT&T site they only can send international SMS messages to ONE country in Europe - United Kingdom. AT&T are now about to the level of Verizon in intercarrier international SMS messaging, which is at Grade 1 in school. This is truly sad to see when InphoMatch, both carriers' intercarrier messaging company, has been ready for over 9 months to switch them on, but are waiting on the carriers.
SMS cannot be beat when I'm communicating with executives from other companies in Europe where we do business; I can get an answer faster than email and cheaper than phone. Just another reason I switched from Verizon to T-Mobile - it's a global economy, stupid!

Let me just get this right... up until now you couldn't (at least on AT&T) sms outside the US?

I think you could send messages to Canada - I'm not certain since I've never tried.

And don't forget, AT&T charges 25 cents per outgoing SMS to another country, whereas T-Mobile gives you 500 SMS at $2.99...no wonder people are complaining about AT&T pricing and service these days.
