Default Local Versus Cloud Storage - Fight!

http://www.gottabemobile.com/2010/0...ur-mobile-life/

"I’m not pointing this out to weigh one product over the other, but to highlight the issue of local versus cloud storage for important data. There are many, many services that rely on the Cloud for storage and your access to your data. There’s nothing wrong with that and many of these services do the job quite well. At least until you can’t get a connection. Having data stored locally removes that potential roadblock."

I'm a control freak, so I have a problem with just turning over important things to the cloud, especially a non-paid cloud service with no guarantee, and hoping the data will be there when I need it.  Plus the cloud has obvious security concerns besides the connectivity issues brought up in the linked article.  However, the cloud also provides some level of redundancy over your data in the event of the loss/theft of your device.  In some ways cloud storage with a level of local synching can provide the best of both worlds.
