Default Touchscreen Futures at Lenovo

http://lenovoblogs.com/lenovofiles/...ifferent-paths/

"As a master inventor and director of strategic technologies for Lenovo's Research and Technology team, Jamie Rutledge helps Lenovo's consumer and commercial business teams navigate the plethora of touchscreen technologies and decide which ones make it into new products. Jamie explains his take on why more technology choice is a good thing."

Lenovo's Jamie Rutledge explains that for Lenovo, "one technology definitely does not fit all" when it comes to touchscreens. Use case requirements (and the underlying optical screen technology) are much different for a stationary all-in-one computer (desktop) used indoors than for a laptop, whose user needs are closer to today's typical touchscreen mobile phone. Lenovo thinks that today's touchscreen technologies will survive into the foreseeable future, with additional technologies arriving on the scene.
