"Recently, we got a letter from some guy asking us whether Image Stabilisation on a lens really improves the stability of the movies that he wants to make. What's more, he plans to put his HDSLR on the front of his car, so he wants to know how it will perform when used with a reasonably fast moving object. In a delightfully amusing non-scientific test, DigitalRev's Kai races around and around with two different cameras to see how big of a difference image stabilization makes. The results aren't that surprising - massive vibration courtesy of running running around with a camera on a dolly is something that no image stabilization can fully compensate for.
