Microsoft VP Confirms Windows Phone 7 Release Month
Not only do we have evidence of devices coming out in October, we have Microsoft's very own VP for Marketing Mich Mathews spilling the beans about an October release date at the Cannes Lions advertising conference. "I'm gonna ask rock star Kostas... to come on. And Kostas has brought with him Windows Phone 7, which we launch this October." So there you have it. June is almost over which makes October a quick three months away.

This is great news. My contract with at&t expires in Nov, so I have a month to see how it's doing and to look at all the phones. Any idea when companies will reveal which phones will use WP7?

No matter what day in October they will release them I would say that advertising with models, prices etc. should start no later than end of August, beginning of September.

Didn't MS officially "launch" WM 6.5 in October 09 but devices were not available till a few months later? Hope this time the launch will include actual devices as well.
