Default Windows Mobile Gets Some Google Buzz Love

http://googlemobile.blogspot.com/20...ailable-on.html

"Back in February, we launched Google Buzz for mobile, a tool to start interesting conversations when you are out and about. One of the most popular ways to access Google Buzz for mobile is through the web application (by going to buzz.google.com in your phone's browser). When Buzz launched, it was only available for devices running Android 2.0+ and iPhone. Not any more! Today we're a releasing an XHTML version of the Buzz website which can be accessed from many other mobile devices, including those running Android pre-2.0, Blackberry, Nokia S60, and Windows Mobile."

Incidentally, the new version also allows access from WebOS devices, which much like Windows Mobile these days seems relegated to an afterthought. Do you use Google Buzz?

I downloaded Google maps 4.0 the day it came out because of the buzz feature.

The windows mobile version of buzz.google.com website didnt work until just now, so thanks for the heads up. But its very limited. To use buzz you need Google maps 4.0+

In Google maps the 'Buzz' is implemented as a 'layer' so you have to select the layer first. When you get a GPS lock then you can see all local buzzes on your local map as quote boxes. When you tap on the quote box you can view the text or picture if any. After a day or so the bubbles disappear unless someone quotes back to it.

The first week of buzz there were only a few people here in Hamilton using it but lots in Waterloo (Google programmers). Also the lead mobile programmer at Google 'Punit Soni' comments when hes in the area. The second/third week they added Twitter feeds to the buzzes so it got really messy but they fixed that up.

Its a really really cool/fun tool and I use/post view daily but also extremely dangerous since its so easy to post. Just get a GPS lock in Google maps and tap the icon to post a new buzz and the picture sensor is 'Too Easy' to upload. You can delete a buzz from your desktop (and now mobile site) if you dont like it. I upload JPEG drawings (seem to be the only one on buzz who does it) since nothing to view here.

Very cool tool.
