Default Google Releases YouTube App For Windows Mobile

http://m.youtube.com

Google has released a YouTube app for Windows Mobile. It requires about 1.5MB of space to install and seems to work just fine if you install to a storage card. The animations are very smooth as you flip through videos to watch. It includes a search feature.

You can download it by pointing your browser on your Windows Mobile device to http://m.youtube.com

The You Tube app that came with my AT&T Fuze is significantly more polished ... but I can't seem to find an "about" to see who created it? It is an official app the phone came with and it is completely You Tube branded. Why would Google release this dumbed down version?

That youtube app was made by HTC. What I wonder is why google released a youtube app when they have their own video service.

Its nice to see Windows Mobile still getting some App love. The Netflix Manager is nice to. Albeit limited in some functionality.

It works but the app by HTC is much better. I have an EVDO connection and this app will not download all of the previews. Scrolling with your finger is very iffy. The videos need buffering to often.

Actually works well on my Omnia however being on EDGE atm produces several buffering messages, should be better on wifi. Quality was good and its good to see this available for Non-HTC devices. As posted on their site, it will be updated so lets hope increased functionality will be added.

Hmmm...I went to the m.youtube.com URL but I didn't get a download link at all. Is it being limited in some way?
