LocateMe Locates Us a Contest!
"Easily share your coordinates with others through Email or SMS. Simply select a recipient then press the 'Send' button. It is that quick! No extra typing required. The messages are automatically constructed for you by LocateMe." LocateMe provides a novel way to let others know what's going on when you're running late, or simply want them to be able to find you. I can see myself wanting this for those moments I know I'm going to be a bit late and want others to know where I am so they can estimate when I'll be there. And for those of us who are late and lucky, Applied PDA Software has offered to give away 5 copies of LocateMe to lucky Thoughts readers. All you need to do is tell us what you would use LocateMe for. When the contest closes, the publisher will pick their top answers and we'll announce the winners! You have until 12 Noon MST on 1/29/2009 to enter in your answer. Good Luck Everyone!

I can see myself using it to provide a GeoCaching of sorts to my Twitter experiences - SMS'ing coordinates to Twitter is (imo) cool

(Can you use it to find yourself too )

I don't think this is what I want. I do however want my sife to know where I am, and I certainly want to know where my children are. But I don't want to have to send a SMS message to do it. I want to be able to install the application on my phone and my family, then use the web to locate them. If I'm going to send an SMS, I might as well tell someone where I am. I want the installation of the application to undergo some sort of security, but I just want to make sure my family is safe.

LocateMe
I would use it to let my friends know exactly where I am when I'm out, because sometimes even I don't know!
This is the first time i've heard of this software and I think it's a great idea. The Google Maps link seems particularly useful to those who don't have a gps unit. I'm really bad at giving directions at the best of times, so having this link would help a lot.

I would want this for my wife's Windows Mobile Phone. She lives in Florida and I live in Virginia. When we are not together, I am concerned for her safety. She is a very petite woman (5 feet and 100 pounds) and I get nervous with her leaving the hospital late at night to walk to her car or other times.

Party Time in ATL!
With this I could play the ultimate game of hide and seek. I'd find the best party spots in ATL and then broadcast the location to all of my friends!

Party over Here!!!
Would be great to have on party nights. After finding the best party spots in the ATL I'd broadcast it to my friends. When you find me you've found a great party.
