Default Zune App: Stable Fluid

<div class='os_post_top_link'><a href='http://cgskeelogy.blogspot.com/2008/10/stable-fluid-running-on-zune.html' target='_blank'>http://cgskeelogy.blogspot.com/2008...ng-on-zune.html</a><br /><br /></div><p>Check out this cool Zune app by <span style="text-decoration: line-through;">Jos Stam</span> <strong><a href="http://cg.skeelogy.com/">Skeel Lee</a> based on an algorithm written by Jos Stam</strong>, which emulates an interactive Lava Lamp on your device. Rubbing your finger along the Zune Pad pushes the "fluid" around the screen, and makes for some really cool visualizations. Apps like these showcase all the cool things developers can do with XNA and the Zune device, but at the moment all this functionality is limited by the lack of an official Zune game store. If there's one thing I'd like to see in the next big update it's a well thought-out distribution chain for developers and consumers alike, without the need to jump through complicated <a href="http://www.zunethoughts.com/news/show/89121/got-8-minutes-get-games-on-your-zune.html" target="_blank">technical hurdles</a> to get the games and programs we want on our devices. So what are you waiting for, Zune Team? Get on it!</p><p><object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" width="425" height="344" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="src" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/aEGGzMf-Hc4&amp;color1=0xb1b1b1&amp;color2=0xcfcfcf&amp;fs=1" /><embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="344" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/aEGGzMf-Hc4&amp;color1=0xb1b1b1&amp;color2=0xcfcfcf&amp;fs=1" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object></p><p>UPDATE: Clarified app authorship. Sorry Skeel!</p>

Default Zune App: Stable Fluid

Hi Adam,

Thanks for linking my Zune video in your website! Great to see your website will lots of cool Zune information because I am a Zune fan myself. I share your thoughts on wanting a great games market on the Zune marketplace soon for developers and consumers.

Anyway, I would just like to say that the statement "Check out this cool Zune app by Jos Stam" is a bit misleading. The technology and algorithm is based on what Jos Stam has written in his Siggraph 1999 Stable Fluids paper but I was the one who created the app for Zune and recorded the video. Just saying this to clarify things and prevent any confusion.

Have a great day!

Cheers,
Skeel

Oops! I should've read more closely. I've fixed it in the article.

Adam, Thanks for the edit!

Byeme, the video for the app can be found at http://cgskeelogy.blogspot.com/2008/...g-on-zune.html (you have to click on the title of the article written by Adam). Or you can actually just view the youtube video directly in the article.

Cheers!
