Zumobi
"Zumobi, the innovative mobile widget platform, announced its latest release for Windows Mobile. The updated application delivers new features and functionality to improve user experience and give the growing number of Zumobi users greater content from which to choose. One of the most compelling features of the new release is a Tile Wizard, which allows users to easily create their own Zumobi mobile widgets. Users can choose the look and feel of these widgets, stream data from their choice of RSS feeds, and turn personal blogs and favorite Web content into Zumobi Tiles they can enjoy as well as share with friends. Another new feature accompanying this release is the on-phone Tile Gallery, which enables users to select and upload Tiles directly from their mobile handset, allowing Zumobi users to explore and swap new content in and out while on-the-go. Zumobi also has produced a streamlined client for faster downloads of the application and a smaller on-phone footprint."
Create your own Zumobi tile with nothing more than an RSS feed - hmm, not a bad addition to their widget engine. This is how widgets should be - accessible to all and easy to create! Now if I can just find a few people that use Zumobi, I'd be in business. Is it more widespread than I think? Zumobi users, speak up!

Early on, I got a Zumobi account and installed the client. At that time. I found it interesting, but not enought to reinstall it when I flashed my device with an OS update. I found the limiting of number of tiles to be too limiting for me to want to use. Much of the information was available and more usable for me through the mobile browser. Maybe I will try it again.

I was about to try it. I installed it and was about to register. Right up to the point where they asked for my mobile number.
Given the fact that they're looking for advertising partners did not give me a comfort level about giving them my cell phone number.

Hey Phil, I do really hate it from my whole heart when they ask you for your ph. number just to give you access to the download Here you can download Zumobi 1.1 as I did few hours ago. It's hassle-free but if you want to use it you still need to create an account with zumobi.com (they'll guide you after install). It's still too early to express my own opinion, but on the first sight it seem to work slow. Or maybe my WM5 phone is already too old?
