Default Expansys Has the HTC Touch Diamond in Stock Now

http://www.expansys-usa.com/p.aspx?...rtner=pthoughts

If you've been itching to get your HTC Touch Diamond fix, Expansys now has the product in stock - at the time of this writing they have 134 in stock, selling for $795.95 USD. The HTC Touch Diamond has a lot in common with the HTC Touch Pro announced earlier today, the biggest difference being the lack of a keyboard and microSD card slot, but the addition of 4 GB of on-board storage. All purchased made through the Pocket PC Thoughts Expansys affiliate store go to help support the site, and your support is greatly appreciated. [Affiliate]

UPDATE: Interested in a group buy? I've spoken to Expansys and they've indicated that if between 5 and 9 units are ordered, a $25 discount would be applicable. If 10 or more units are ordered, they could do a $50 discount. Anyone interested? We might want to wait for the official UK release as well since the comments in this thread seem to indicate this is a Hong Kong version.

Default Be careful of which bands are supported...

I read (wish I could remember which blog) an answer from someone at HTC about why not all the US bands were covered in the Diamond specs. Had to do with the difficulty of optimizing for all those bands, especially in such a small package. I think the US version will be optimized differently. So US users should double check before buying. It's not quite full world wide support. Anyone else know the reference for that?

Having said that, I'm excited to hear that it's in stock. I am considering the Touch Pro for myself in August when it's due "world wide", so I'm hoping that includes the US.

Default They're GREY IMPORTS

These units are GREY IMPORTS . They are unlocked but are Chinese operators sets so you wont get HTC support from them .

Expansys have deleted the threads that show this but you will see stock fluctuate as more people send them back.

I would show the thread but if you look at others its commented in there

Hers is some http://www.expansys.com/ft.aspx?k=110221

Buyer beware they are falsly advertising this product as a UK version . IT IS NOT and you will not get support or warranty from HTC.

I would never buy from them again , not only is the cost high 500 but also they know about this and our trying to hush it up. Many buyers have called HTC and they have confirmed no support.

While I think this is the best looking smartphone ever and I would love to have one, I plan to wait for a true US version and until we see what type of experience people have with the battery. The lack of a memory card doesn't bug me much because of the 4Gb of internal memory.

My new Touch Cruise is a nice looking phone too(I have to admit that appearance does matter to me) and I am enjoying it. Touch FLO is a great addition to Windows Mobile, but it didn't take long for me to find one or two minor annoyances with the interface. From the videos of the Diamond, it appears HTC has corrected those and integrated the interface far deeper into WM.
