Microsoft Bites Bullet, Licenses Adobe's Flash Lite for Windows Mobile
"Microsoft is expected to shore-up its much maligned Internet Explorer Mobile browser this morning by announcing new Flash Lite support. We have no idea when the new plug-in technology (including Reader LE for PDFs) might make it into Windows Mobile. Nevertheless, with the far superior Skyfire and Opera Mobile 9.5 mobile browsers already supporting Flash Lite, and Microsoft's own competing Silverlight not expected to go mobile until the end of the year, it can't be long now can it?"
Does this make anyone else want to laugh? I mean welcome to the party Microsoft! It's about time! Shouldn't Microsoft be leading the way instead of always dragging their behinds? Do you think they read sites like this and the many others that are constantly ripping on them? It's becoming a joke how one of the richest companies in the world is also one of the least innovative and last to integrate technologies. We're just now getting flash? Am I supposed to be excited about this? Seriously Microsoft, step it up. Become the leader you have the money to be. What do you all think? Am I being too harsh or does MS need to "wow" us - and soon?

Biggest question is will it be available to existing users or will we be required to buy another device as has been the norm so far? Does sound a bit sad though, there really isnt anything to get excited about with WM these days.

It does looks like Microsoft starts listening to regular folks, finally. The biggest question still remains how far MS is willing to go to please its customers, and how long will it take to bring all those "improvements" to the end user? I fear that by the time we will see Flash Lite3 as a part of a standard MS Package, we will buy Opera Mobile with Flash Lite 7.

"Dead OS Walking"
I've heard Windows Mobile recently described as a "Dead OS Walking", and it's hard to argue the point. The rumor that MS is allegedly working on a new "MinWin" kernel to serve as the base for all its future OS' seems to support that argument. Personally, I'm just waiting to see what happens with the gPhone this year and whether Apple makes reasonable decisions re: iPhone SDK and network support before I even THINK about buying another MS Mobile device to replace my MotoQ.

Didn't flash player 7 work with IE mobile though? I mean FP7 is much out dated and Flash Lite 3 will be very welcome, but its not like WM had no flash support at all before this.
