Conduits Releases Pocket Player 3.6; Price Drops for Pocket Artist and Pocket Slides
"Conduits Technologies, Inc. announced today the release of Pocket Player 3.6 for Windows Mobile 6 Standard, Professional and Classic devices. Pocket Player aims to satisfy consumers who demand more from a media player on a mobile device. Pocket Player 3.6 includes new improvements to the library and media browser, as well as many fixes to core functionality and plugins. Pocket Player is also compatible with Windows Mobile 5, Pocket PC 2003, and Smartphone 2003 devices."
Conduits has just released Pocket Player 3.6, and it's free if you purchased Pocket Player 2.x or 3.x anytime since September 2005. Otherwise, you can pick up a free trial version, or the full version from our affiliate software store (MobiHand) - and you'll probably want to, if Windows Media Player just isn't your cup of tea.
In addition, Conduits has slashed the price of both Pocket Artist and Pocket Slides. Pocket Artist has dropped from $49.95 to $19.95. Pocket Slides has dropped from $39.95 to $19.95. Great deals! Both are available from our affiliate software store (MobiHand) as well.

Great piece of software
I've used this program for 9 months or so. I use it exclusively to listen to pocasts since it provides variable speed playback. Nothing like TWIT and BOL playing at 150 to 175% of normal speed. Yes, Molly rants can be hard to follow at that speed.
Can't recommend this program enough!!

How well does it work for video? I really can't seem to get TCPMP to play my mpeg4 videos at all and I'm hoping this might be the answer.

To answer my own question, I downloaded the trial and it does not appear to support MPEG4. Darn. Seems like a nice app though, but definitely feels like it's a music player first with video a distant second.

When I first started using Pocket Player, I had a tough time with it. Any time I launched it, it brought my Axim to a crawl for several minutes. Then I made some adjustments to the default library settings and disabled the automatic library update feature, and now it runs just fine.
My only issue is that it won't scale video to fit the screen, regardless of the settings.
