Default Microsoft's Live Anywhere... Not So Anywhere.

http://multiplayerblog.mtv.com/2008...itiatives-dead/

"At the Microsoft's press briefing at E3 2006, Bill Gates came on stage to introduce Live Anywhere, an ambitious company initiative to integrate the Xbox 360 experience into everyday life via mobile phones. Nearly two years later, Live Anywhere has yet to materialize. Is Live Anywhere dead?... With iPhones SDK on the horizon and the continued proliferation of Facebook applications including one to tag profiles with Xbox 360 gamertags we wondered what happened to the once-promising Live Anywhere. The impressive demonstrations from years back have seemingly remained nothing more than that: demos."

Gamers, you wanted that console experience on your mobile device with Live Anywhere for Windows Mobile, but the word from Microsoft is that it's not coming anytime soon, although it does remain part of the company's Xbox Live vision. Probably the last thing you want to hear after today's announcement from Apple, with Spore and Super Monkey Ball to rub salt in the wound. Oh well, baby steps.

I recently looked for this software and even mailed Major Nelson with no reply. It's to bad because it would be so slick on a Friday night to see who's on Live without going to my PC, or XBOX.

Thanks for giving this issue a bit of coverage. As a big fan of XBL and Windows Mobile I was excited about this development...2 years ago. Now I'm just dissapointed. *sigh*
