Default Amazon to Acquire Audible

http://phx.corporate-ir.net/phoenix.zhtml?c=176060&p=irol-newsArticle&ID=1102509&highlight=

"Amazon.com, Inc., today {Jan 31, 2008} announced that it has reached an agreement to acquire Audible Inc."

I am not sure what to think about this. I have been a customer of both for at least 10 years, and I think Amazon has better customer service. Maybe they actually have someone that can program too, because my numer one complaint about Audible has always been their absolutely horrible software. Their horribe color selection for their hacked up user interface would be my second biggest complaint. I am hopeful something good will come of this.

Not that I am aware of. I've never seen anyone go to the trouble of hacking it and every device I've used that wasn't Audible ready right out of the box involved a ROM upgrade to get their code and DRM on the device.

That would work, but for me, I only listen to unabridged content so each book is 18+ hours. That is a lot of CDs and work.

PPC is my preferred method of listening to audible
