Perhaps the Last CompactFlash Card You'll Ever Need?
That's right kids - 32 GB of storage. There aren't many Pocket PCs that use CompactFlash cards any more, but if you have one, this should catch your attention. The price? Only $134.99 USD from NewEgg. It might not be the fastest performing card in the world (I haven't tested one yet), but hey, that's 32 GB of storage - that's only $4.22 per GB! If CompactFlash continues to grow at this rate pretty soon we'll be doing data backups onto Flash memory cards...

Read the reviews over at NewEgg. I think 3 of 4 reviewers (last time I checked) were doing exactly that.
Personally I think that's the ideal use for this card. It's slow, so won't be that great in a super high MP camera shooting RAW, but PPC's are slow when reading/writing to CF anyway, so this card is fast enough. Fast enough to watch video on the x51v according to the NewEgg reviewers.
I want one for my Toshiba e830! 8)

I was looking for an inexpensive CF card about a week-and-a-half ago and discovered this one. I was a bit concerned when the web site just listed it as "speedy" (as opposed to giving a 133x rating or some such). At any rate (pun intended), I decided to go with it and couldn't be happier. I have huge amounts of data that I like to take with me and my old 8GB card was constantly flirting with being full. Now I've got room to sprawl (!)
It works just fine on my hx4700 so I doubt any PPC with a CF slot would have difficulty with it.

WOW! I was thinking about getting the 8 or 16 GB to try on my old 2215. But 32 GB!!!!! That is a cool.

and Pretec just announced 233x 48 GB card and 333x 24 GB cards (that's 50 MB/s tranfer speed!).
But both the Pretec and Transcend cards will be considerably more expensive.
The A-Data card is a "slow" 40x, but that's still 6 MB/s or the same as Class 6 (fastest) SDHC cards. Or you could think of it as 48Mbps. Considering that I've never gotten my Toshiba e830 to play back any video much over 1Mbps bit rate smoothly (it chokes on 1.5Mbps H.264 files that play smoothly on my iPhone), this card should be plenty fast enough for video on a PPC even if it would be slow for saving 20 MP RAW photos.
It's a great price per GB. Plus, it's available now. Only 2 weeks ago this card was $170 at NewEgg. I hope the price continues to drop.
