T-Mobile Ameo (Athena) Gets 16GB Microdrive Upgrade
"While the device design stays the same - more or less (except some keyboard rearrangements as T-Mobile Germany said in its press release) - the Ameo 16 GB gets a doubled hard disk drive, featuring 16 GB, compared to the original MDA Ameo/HTC Athena and T-Mobile Germany accidentally confirmed that the new Ameo will run with Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional."
I'm keeping my eye out for this one - 16GB is mighty tempting, along with all the other goodies the Advantage has. T-Mobile says this will be available in April at a price of 460 Euros with 24-month contract. I really hope HTC will market this as well.

I had one of these (in an 8GB version, the X7501), and thought about using it as an eBook reader and larger-screened GPS (I use an HTC Touch as a cell phone). At the end of the day, the unit was just too heavy for one-handed use for anything longer than short periods of time. Personally, I'm sticking to my Loox 720 from way back. If people want it as a mini-laptop, that's an option, but the weight for one-handed use is significant.
