Default CooTek Updates TouchPal Onscreen Keyboard for Windows Mobile to v2

http://www.cootek.com/

"It would be useful to help those who upgraded from V1 to understand better about what's new in TouchPal V2. The biggest change is that we refactored all the codes in V1 and made a whole new architecture for V2. Although this is invisible for end users, it is really a huge effort of improvement for TouchPal. With this new powerful infrastructure , it enables the following major features (in both Standard and Professional):
- Multi-language support (including layout, alphabet, and dictionaries)
- Display word candidate in document while typing (you can enable it in Options menu but it may impact performance on some device)
- Numbers inside ABC tab.
- Landscape mode
- Smaller size and resource"

There have been several onscreen keyboards that have been updated lately. CooTek has done some under-the-hood updates including dictionary structure, UI infrastructure, and optimization of size and resource utilization. For those new to TouchPal, the program attempts to combine two letters and a symbol on each button of a QWERTY keyboard-based layout using a technology called T+. TouchPal Standard is free for personal use, while TouchPal v2.0 Professional is normally 19.99 USD. There's a current special until February 1st. Check out more information at CooTek.

I have used many soft keyboards in the past 4 years ever since I started using Pocket PCs but I find this one the best by far.

On my TyTn II I rarely find myself using the slide out mechanical keyboard ever since I Upgraded to version 2. I had never even considered devices without some sort of hard keyboards but now I am anxiously waiting for the HTC Touch Cruise to become available in my county because I feel I do not need a mechanical keyboard anymore.

I made the jump from 6700 to Touch a couple weeks back and was worried about the lack of a slide out keyboard. TouchPal has been wonderful. I purchased the Pro version to get the resizable function which works well. CooTek really outdid themselves with this product as it makes my Touch much more functional.

I am considering changing pda phones again. I am currently using the Nokia e62 that includes a keyboard. I am considering switching to a ppc phone but one of the draw backs to one is no keyboard. This software looks interesting. I am looking for ease of use and speedy response. I have gotten so used to using a keyboard that I typically will not buy a pda phone without it.

I played with it on my test phone a bit. I was really suprised at how fast i could type on it with out any practice.
I have a tytn ii but always like to have a soft keyboard i can use with one hand for those times when my hands are full or i am carying something in one hand. I currently use pocket CM keyboard. I will have to consider this one.
