PointUI: New Touch-Oriented Home Screen
"Take back control of your device with Pointui Home. No need to fumble for a stylus anymore as Home is designed with generously sized controls. Home's intuitive controls and highly responsive user interface makes using your device a breeze."
Here's another Today Screen replacement giving you TouchFLO-style thumb control. From the screenshots, it also looks pretty nice. Have any of you tried it?

I tried it; it's pretty. Overkill for me since I use the Spb stuff and a HTC Touch. And it defaults the email to Outlook, which I don't use. If it could have more ability to make modifications, it would be great. As it is, I didn't need it, although I was impressed. It's not as smooth as the iPod Touch or iPhone, though. But pretty close. If I could have done a bit of tweaking on it, I might have stuck with it.

now this seems like it can be a big hit. the site right now looks like there might still be some tweaks being worked on day by day, but for the most part...this seems to be a great program for those of us who dont want to use a stylus everytime we need to make a call or check the weather and such. if it works on the phone side like the 'fun contacts', then im getting this real quick. (but will wait a few weeks to see if there are still any bugs to get worked out.)
website looks great and has alot of pics to see.
great job so far...great find....and..free for now, so jump on it before it gets to big and they have to sell it at $15 a pop.

I actually played with this a week or so ago. I agree that it looks very nice but that is about it. It doesn't offer my anything the HTC Home plugin and touch flow don't already give me. Or Spb Mobile Shell for that matter.
There are no options really. You use it as is. You can actually change what email, media player and phone dialer program it launches by editing the registry. Maybe it will actually be an option in a future version.
Over all it looks very nice and works very well. It is just very limited and doesn't really provie anything new that other apps or built in plugins already provide. It does, however, provide this functionality in a different looking manner. And it is free.

I absolutely agree with the above post. It gives nothing more than the combined power of the latest editions of SPB Mobile Shell and PocketPlus and I believe these are far more customizable.

Well, maybe for you it doesn't. For me and others it offers fast and pretty interface for free. (without looking like Frankenstein's monster thats been built by sewing parts together)
Actually i bought mshell too, but i like this one better. You know, mshell didn't have any customization in the beginning likewise. And the home plugin? Crappy and slow. No customization at all.

From the video, it appears that the left/right swipe is opposite of what it should be. It is set so that if you want to go right, you motion right - but I would think moving right is moving the page right giving you the screen to the left. Anyway, that is what I would consider more intuitive.

Battery Power & PointUI
I have been using this for 2-3 days and it is really handy. I only have 2 issues.
1. Battery life has been sucked quite fast since I installed and have been using. I have noticed a couple of times that if I hit the power button that a few mins later the screen will come back on.... not sure what is causing this but could be my battery problem.
2. The other issue is with configurability..... it doesnt really have any yet.
I would say that at first I wasn't too happy with the user interface but it has 95% of what I needed. Great work! It is very smooth.
