Default Adobe Announces Flash Lite 3

http://www.adobe.com/products/flashlite/

"dobe Systems Incorporated (Nasdaq: ADBE) today announced the availability of Adobe Flash Lite 3 software, which now supports Adobe Flash Player compatible video and enables the delivery of dynamic Web content on mobile devices. Flash Lite 3 allows mobile device manufacturers, operators and content providers to differentiate their offerings by giving users the ability to watch Flash Player compatible video, the world's most popular video format, and browse Flash enabled Web sites when integrated with a mobile Web browser. Both NTT DoCoMo and Nokia committed to deliver Flash Lite 3 enabled devices in upcoming releases of handsets. With over 300 Million Flash enabled mobile devices and handsets shipped so far, Adobe expects more than one billion Flash enabled devices to be available by 2010. Flash Lite 3 more closely replicates the desktop experience delivered by Adobe Flash Player. This gives mobile users the freedom to access content whenever and wherever they want, while efficient resource management capabilities significantly improve and optimize performance for mobile devices. With Flash Lite 3, developers worldwide are able to create more engaging applications, interfaces and mobile assets that integrate video, as well as develop innovative and dynamic mobile assets such as wallpapers, screensavers or casual games."

Flash Lite has moved from v2.1 to v3 to include support for FLV, Flash 8, metadata, RTMP streaming, and progressive downloads, and also feature enhanced local security and improved performance. Be sure to hit the Mobile & Devices Developer Center for details on updating.

Default Download option?

I'm not seeing a download option for Flash Lite 3 for Windows Mobile. They still have Flash Lite 2.1 as the option available for Windows Mobile 5.0 here:

I believe the standalone hasn't been made available for download yet, and the only way to get it (at least for now) is via Flash CS3 Professional and Device Central CS3.

About half-way down this page are three downloads :-

Downloads
Flash Lite 3 update for Flash CS3 Professional
Flash Lite 3 update for Device Central CS3
Flash Lite 3 Developer Edition

The third one is Flash Lite 3 for developers ... developers can download and install it to supported phones.

Does this mean genuine YouTube support for Windows Mobile is in the works?

It is certainly **supposed** to support Flash 8 video, so that means it should support YouTube, but I think it's more complicated than that. For one thing, YouTube has a Flash sniffer that doesn't recognose mobile browsers .. or at least has not whenever I tried it out. That said, I've seen a demo of it working, but not tested it myself.

Default Tried updating my Flash Lite 2.1 with No success

Rather a large file .exe . Has anyone updated their Flashlite 2.1 to this new one on their Tytn Hermes? and if so,,wouldn't mind their procedure. I tried Activesyncing Update,, and almost immediately said unsucessful. Wonder how much spare storage space you need on your unit to do an update. Also, tried placing this new update on Storage Card, and hit the .exe from their, but to no avail. Also,, knowing.exe file is large, ultimately I wonder, how much reduction takes place in storage memory after upgrade.

If you are not a developer, you will not want either of the first two because they are updates for development tools.

Sorry I still don't understand. If I'm a regular user and want to install this program where do I find it?
