Default Waiting For HTC...

http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2007/...ng-press-event/

"While Apple chose London to inform the world of the iPhone's international agenda, HTC is reportedly looking to make a few announcements of its own on that side of the pond. According to TheUnwired, HTC will hold two press events on the first two days in October, the first of which will be in the UK and the second in Germany. Best guesses suggest that we'll be learning a bit more about the firm's forthcoming Windows Mobile-based lineup, and we can only hope that the Kii, Omni and / or Polaris are part of the show -- but considering the location and all, we wouldn't bet the farm on hearing too much about the likely US-bound Juno. Hold tight kids, the events get going in under a week."

Not a whole lot of info, but we've got a week to speculate - so get at it! Omni?! Polaris?! What's on your wishlist?

Default Re: Waiting For HTC...

It would be nice to see the Omni out, and I'm hoping that they haven't delayed the Erato/S420 to death.

10 to 1 they are all GSM based...

Sigh - Why did I ever switch to Verizon with all the choices that GSM based carriers have with phones?

Still it's nice to see HTC keeping things new...

this is exactly WHY I switched away from CDMA and their antiquated provisioning model.

Yep, hope the Wings/Volans gets finally confirmed (and released soon in Germany).

Its predecessor S710 already looked like a "best of two worlds" gadget (though its O2 Germany version has a somewhat "cheap" plastic touch) but as 3G is a must in Germany I chose to wait for the S730. GPS would also be highly appreciated (pdadb.net states it has GPS but other sources say it has not - so let's wait and see).

Hopefully HTC will upgrade the battery. 1050 mAh as posted on pdadb.net would be a bad joke if confirmed. I currently own an HTC Hermes and its 1350 mAh battery drains off in one day if I activate 3G.

But heck, who knows if the Wings will be ever released. Some Belgium HTC sources were quoted in June, saying the Wings was cancelled.

Let's keep our fingers crossed. The Wings/Volans would be first on my wish list.
