Nominations for Best Software Awards 2007 Are Live
This year's Best Software Awards has kicked off with the nominations list now available for public viewing and feedback. Head over to Smartphone & Pocket PC Magazine to check it out, and if you wish to submit any nominations, you have until July 13 to do so. Judging will take place in the following month, with winners announced later this year.

Just to clarify a bit: Werner Ruotsalainen (Menneisyys), the Best Software Awards nominations manager, and our Windows Mobile Board of Experts (http://www.pocketpcmag.com/awards/bo...perts_2007.asp) have spent June creating a list of the top Pocket PC and Smartphone software in over 170 categories!
With so many potential nominees (all WM software) and categories, it is a real challenge to get nominees right (roughly top 20% of WM software), even with our many experts. The last two years we opened our list BEFORE it was final to get feedback from end users and vendors. Doing so has REALLY helped to make sure we haven't inadvertently skipped a great product, nominated something that shouldn't be there, or miscategorized a product.
All the experts are volunteers to insure 100% impartiality so we end up nominating and selecting the top software. We want to make the process as transparent as possible. I consider input from public this week critical to the process, as I am sure there are still lots of "mistakes" in our list. Werner will evaluate each nomination suggestion and make the final decision.
