Besides the ability to match the background to the today screen theme, the new features are great. Especially closing activesync as soon as you take the ppc out of the cradle. Great upgrade.

I'm new to the PPC world, so please excuse me if this question is just...silly. Is this program similar at all to iLauncher (which I haven't tried yet - same as this program).

One difference is size.
HandySwitcher is 201.5KB
iLauncher 3.8MB
SPB PocketPlus 1.8MB
The next difference is features. Personally HandySwitcher has become my new favorite for it's lightning fast speed. Other competitors are great products too but you have to compare the features and decide which ones are right for you. ilauncher has a nice screen capture feature and great skinning capabilities, Pocket Plus is still feature rich but simple and was the first to institute the batter bar across the top of the screen. iLauncher has now provided the same.
The thing I love about this program is that it addresses some items that the other two do not which are mentioned above. The ability to regain ram and compress memory as well are huge in my book. On this Treo, space is very limited and the OS has a significant problem initializing sd cards so I end up having to put everything in main memory.
Another nice thing under the hood is the ability to place HandySwitcher's icon at any position across the top bar or place in the system bar at the bottom of the screen. You can even view your CPU usage. Excellent for program management.
I want to mention that Dinarsoft has an excellent product called MemMaid that is stellar as well.

I have something that I would like to see. I would love an auto switch feature that switches to the next open program (or even better yet- switches to a program you set it to switch to) without having to go to the HS menu. I just want to to keep my third party PIM on the screen when all other programs are closed. Does that make sense?
So once there are no other programs running, which is easy because I always x them out when I am done, then the one that is minimized (my third party PIM) then pops up on the screen rather than me being taken back to the today screen.

Kinda like an ALT-Tab feature? Yeah, I'd like that a lot, too.
One thing that I've always liked about DinarSoft products (Don't get me on my TapText soapbox...) is how customizable they are. The degree of feature tweaking that this "simple" program offers is amazing.

DOH! After using Pocket Plus for all these years, I just now found its "ALT-TAB" function and mapped a hardware key to invoke it.
