Default Spb Software House Releases Spb Phone Suite 1.0

http://www.spbsoftwarehouse.com/pro.../phonesuite/?en

"Spb Software House, the leading Windows Mobile software developer, releases Spb Phone Suite, a collection of all the main phone features you've been missing on your Windows Mobile device. The number of Windows Mobile devices with phone functionality is growing every day. Almost every Windows Mobile 6 device recently announced include phone functionality. Windows Mobile Professional is still not a perfect platform for phone devices, however, lacking such cornerstone phone features as profiles, call filtering, and missed call notifications. Spb Software House is known for the development of technology that extends the Windows Mobile platform. Spb Pocket Plus, for example, extends the classic Pocket PC functionality and was the best selling Pocket PC application in 2005 and 2006 (according to Handango's reports). Spb Mobile Shell improves Windows Mobile usability and is the current best selling Pocket PC program at Handango. Now comes Spb Phone Suite that pushes the envelope of the Windows Mobile platform by improving Pocket PC phone functionality."

Spb Phone Suite is here and it delivers some essential features for the Pocket PC Phone such as support for profiles (yes, we're catching up to our Smartphone brethren), missed call and unread SMS notifications, call filtering, photo speed dialing, a wireless manager, and a Today plug-in. Interested in trying or buying ($14.95)? Head over to our affiliate software store.

Well, after taking a look I can say that this software is about 90% of what I need in a phone management suite. If SPB could add the following, I'd switch full time to Phone Suite!

1. Profile Switch based on appointment category! I don't want my phone muted through all of my "busy" times, I'd much rather assign a category to appointments I wanted muted and go from there. PhoneAlarm, my current favorite profile app, allows this and (when it works, around 95% of the time) it's great.

2. Automatic SMS reply based on contact & appointment (a tall order - i.e., if my wife calls while I'm in a meeting, it replies with the appointment details. If someone else calls, it just replies that I'm busy)

Overall I really liked the app - for someone who has not invested in a profile app, or wants the Spb experience to extend to the phone aspects of their devices, this is the software to try!

Any chance of exchanging SPB Mobile Shell for this? - It looks more like the app I'd hoped for

It actually works quite well with mobile shell. I have replaced the mobile shell photo dial tab with phone suite. Now i have a lot of phone info on that tab and the photo dial contacts.

Plus the tab in Mobile shell changes to match what ever profile you are currently using.

Jason,

Did you have the problem with a delay in screen responsiveness when the phone rings while the screen is darkened and touchscreen is off?

I didn't think that was fully resolved yet.

Thanks.

I've haven't ever noticed any slow downs with Phone suite.. however many others did during beta. Maybe i was just a lucky one.

I would suggest downloading the trial and giving it a go just to make sure though. It seemed to be a very sporadic problem. I believe it was eventually tied to something they were trying to do with the dialer screen which was totally changed.

Too memory heavy, keeping Phone Alarm, with it's skinning and way smaller footprint.
