Nice how they had to soft-reset it in the middle of the demo.

Nice. I hope this comes to T-Mobile (PLEASE T-Mobile). The rear "mouse pad" is pretty cool too.

You mean yank the battery out? Far more extreme approach.

I'm not sure which is funnier; the part where the unit locked up and had to be rebooted, or the interviewer flirting with the PR woman....

"So, what's a nice girl like you demoing a product like this? What do you say we go behind the curtain and I show you my stylus?"

Priceless.

Priceless... except that the interviewer seems a bit too much of a spazz to bother a) preparing for the demo by at least visiting Toshiba's site, or a forum, or somewhere, and reading about the device, and b) to stop flirting long enough to formulate a decent question or two. To her credit the demo person manages to squeeze in quite a few of the basic specs, in spite of the embarrassment of a low memory lockup. Good old PPC OS... doesn't matter which version, how fantastic the device specs, whatever, it's gonna lock up thanks to the genius of the X which is not an X, and the mysterious (and deeply flawed) memory management behind the scenes. There's no way a demo unit at a trade show should be locking up. That's kinda sad after so many years of PPCs.

Still, nice quality video. Gives a decent impression of the machine's design and scale. Looks like a comfortable unit to hold, not too small to be practical for reading or even the odd thumb typing session (ew, yuck!).

Default Poor journalism, nice device

Unles the interviewer was harrassing the poor presenter on purpose, he reflects one poorer form of journalism... has he ever heard of USB Hosting, etc..

More important. We could see that the wide screen is not yet ready for all apps and some yet show clearly a 3x4 aspect ratio legacy, the rear biometric sensor implies a real sturdy keyboard mechanism which demands use each time one operates the device (hmm.. think again about KB mech. sturdiness), otherwise I would sure be happy to have one for a week, OK, the girl too...:-)..(just trying to level with the reporter..)

Actually, I enjoy the flirting part, will we get a part 2? And I have to admit, this girl did a very good job, act very professional and a quick thinking removing battery instead of looking for a soft reset button! She does her job much better, than a device she demoes! 0X

Default Too slow...

Looks really nice but don't you think the 416 MHz processor is a bit too slow for a device with high-res screen. Remember the HTC Pro which was slow (at least at the time it was released) although the processor speed was much higher?

I think 400 Mhz is just too slow to handle this resolution (see how long it takes to rotate the screen, also after soft reset), even though I have to admit it is probably just an early sample.
