Default UltraMote Universal Remote Software Updated to Version 3.3

http://www.ultramote.com

"UltraMote universal remote software is now available for a variety of Windows Mobile Phone and PDA models based upon Marvell XScale 2xx-series processors with internal infrared data (IrDA) ports... The new UltraMote software version provides twice the number of built-in skins, to enable users to rapidly set up a range of virtual remote screens - each with a unique visual appearance. Users can also create custom remote skins using their own graphics, symbols, or photos or by combining graphics with the skin templates from the UltraMote web site."

UltraMote offers both a software and hardware solution, with a CF add-on card to extend your range up to 50 feet. About a week ago, I posted on CD RemoteControl II. If you use remote control software on your mobile device, what's your favorite and why?

Hi Paul,

I use the Noviiremote Deluxe for the following reasons:

-it's more stable than any other remote control solution
-it's have the biggest compatibility list
-it's very easy to set up or to use
-it's funny
-it provides a huge database of infrared codes and i may not need to learn my handheld by means of original remote control at all.

To be short, it's simply the best!

I am looking for a good IR remote solution that works well with CCF files and also supports the TI processor (on my Wizard). I miss the PDAWin remote software I used with my older Pocket PC.

That's not correct

That's not correct.
Does it support Windows CE 3.0, HPC2000, Windows CE .NET 4.0, 4.1, 4.2, Windows CE 5.0 ?
Does it support CF- IR- extender cards ?
The answer is: No

Because it's very unflexible and you can use only one predefinde button setup.

Most of the special IR functions are not included in this "huge database". So you need the original remote control for teaching them.

I prever WinCESoft's RemoteControl II

I prefer any software which permits the owner to transfer his license to a newly purchased or upgraded machine without charging for another full license, thus I would never use UltraMote regardless of it's features.

I don't know what HPC2000 is. Is it something old?

All the rest is compatible with noviiremote.

Hehe, it seems you never downloaded a trial version of the noviiremote deluxe software! If you and i are speaking about the same version, it contains 15 (fifteen) predefined button layouts.

I wish I would. To my great pity I'm not.

Listen, you have 3 posts up to now and all of them are about remotecontrol II. Are you the WinCESoft's employee? If yes, please be honest to confess.

I had such a problem. I was using PDAwin every day on an old HP Journada 560 PPC. PDAwin (version 5.74) could take complex old style Philips Pronto CCF files. However, it is a pain to have to re-program and copy the file from PC to PPC. Noviiremote deluxe editor does it all nicely on the PPC. RemoteController II does this, but is seems to have been written by engineers and is laden with facilities.. The design of their interface and buttons is bit dark and austere, quite the opposite of Noviiremote's! However, I lost the will to live when programming RCII. Noviiremote Deluxe programming interface is better and more intuitive, but still has some GUI oddities and is not flexible enough in places.

I can use the PDAwin product on my Loox N560 but when used in landscape (infrared on the side!) the fonts are a bit pixellated, whereas Noviiremote program does landscape properly.... Oh well... I was looking for a perfection, yeah ...
