Default Marvell Supports Windows Mobile 6 on New Marvell PXA Processors

http://L2V2nvvdgMKqGBvmqstD1h85P2jh...7?releaseID=723

"Marvell (NASDAQ: MRVL), the leader in storage, communications, and consumer silicon solutions, extends its collaboration with Microsoft to support developers working with the new Windows Mobile operating system, Windows Mobile 6, with the recently introduced Marvell PXA3xx series application processors (internally code named "Monahans"). This collaboration will allow the worldwide community of hardware and software developers, who have already developed on previous generations of PXA processors and Windows Mobile 5.0 operating system, to accelerate development of their tools and products on the newest version, Windows Mobile 6."

Last November, semi-conductor company Marvel purchased Intel's cellular and applications processor business. Shortly thereafter, they announced the 3rd generation of Xscale processors with the PXA3xx family. So, essentially this announcement confirms support for Windows Mobile 6. Wonder how soon we'll see new Windows Mobile 6 devices based on the new processor?

It's a good question. As far as we can see Manufacturers moving towards OMAP 200Mhz processors, that are probably dirt cheap for them. So the excuse is "saving power".
