Call of Duty 2 for Pocket PC Goes Gold
"Aspyr Media, Inc., a leading publisher of interactive entertainment, today announced that Call of Duty� 2 Pocket PC Edition is gold and will be available via digital distribution and at retail stores this month. Based on Activision, Inc.'s award-winning PC title, Call of Duty 2, Call of Duty 2 Pocket PC Edition has been created for Windows Mobile handheld devices, including pocket PCs and smart phones, and is optimized for the new Marvell PXA3xx processor family (codenamed Monahans) based on third-generation XScale technology... Call of Duty 2 Pocket PC Edition will continue the trademark cinematic intensity of the Call of Duty brand. Gamers will be transported to the front lines of World War II and experience chaotic battlegrounds with exploding artillery and whizzing bullets, authentic battleground recreation, a vast arsenal of weaponry, and a highly polished gameplay progression. The title features 12 complete single-player levels and utilizes the touchscreen for maximum control and accuracy."
Call of Duty fans, take note. The Pocket PC version of Call of Duty 2 will be available for public consumption this month. And you have to hand it to Aspyr - they've managed to optimize the game for a processor family we've seen very little of. Kudos.

Maybe I'm being too closed-minded here, but why would you want to play a first-person shooter such as this on a Pocket PC? Having played CoD2 on the PC, I just don't see how the gameplay experience could be a good one on a small screen with such limited controls. It seems to be an example of W?BIC!
