Default Noise Is Nothing: Cingular's Jawbone BT Headset

http://cingular.mediaroom.com/index...eases&item=1805

"Aliph, a leading developer of mobile audio products that deliver exceptional quality in any environment, and Cingular Wireless, the nation's largest wireless carrier, today introduced the new Jawbone headset for Bluetooth mobile phones. Jawbone is the first adaptive Bluetooth headset with Noise Shield technology, which virtually eliminates background noise so calls are clearer. Jawbone's audio performance is further enhanced by an award-winning design by internationally acclaimed product designer Yves Bhar, which maximizes comfort and functional simplicity."

Gizmodo loves this, though I wouldn't go so far as to call it the "...best looking headset ever made". It's certainly a standout design, with some serious technology behind its noise canceling feature. The Jawbone is currently available exclusively through Cingular stores (Silver only) for $119.99, though you can pre-order silver, red, and black versions directly from Aliph (free ground shipping in the US if ordered before January 15th 2007).

Saw one of these yesterday at the Cingular store in the mall here...its a little bigger than I had hoped for. But I do find the noise cancelling tech intriguing. But they wouldn't let me test one of them so I am not sure if I find the noise cancelling tech $120 worth of intriguing. So I will continue to ponder.

Walt Mossberg of the WSJ reviewed this and said that the noise cancelling works well for just about everything BUT wind noise. Unfortunately, that's one of the biggest sources for me...

Well they seem to be completely sold out in the NYC stores, so I guess this is a good xmas for them.

The demo they have on their website is interesting... I almost always have people ask me 'where I am' do to the noise... This may be the trick.
