O2 Xda Apollo with 1GB ROM
MrPalm.com has some juicy pictures of the Xda Apollo, an upcoming Pocket PC Phone Edition from O2. Think of it as the next step up from the Xda Atom Exec wth an Intel XScale 520MHz CPU, 64MB RAM, 1GB ROM, SRS WOW HD support, two cameras (front and back), 3G support, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, an FM radio tuner, and Windows Mobile 5.0. It's a little larger than the Xda Atom Exec, but still a hair smaller than the HTC Prophet. The "go" date for launch is early 2007 in the Asia-Pacific region. Europe and the Americas - you'll probably have to import.

Like the Atom, GPS appears to be absent.

I have my atom over 4 months now and don't have any problems.
The Apollo looks like a cool phone. It's typical, really, when you buy any technology, there is always something better just around the corner. And having that amount of memory built in 8O

I couldn't care less about the 1GB ROM - I can use storage cards (for the most part) to get that. What I want to see is more devices with 128MB RAM and VGA displays (and yes, GPS would be nice too). The downside, of course, is battery life, but I'm willing to sacrifice that to have real, functional RAM.

Needs to have a sliding keyboard. Once you get use to it, you can't have a phone without it.

I m not very much impressed. Why cannot they do something which nokia has done to their N-series. Add something like 3GB-8GB space. Get a notch over nokia
