Hong Kong Welcomes the Treo 750v
"SmarTone-Vodafone, Palm, Inc. (Nasdaq: PALM) and Microsoft today launched the new 3G Palm TreoTM 750v from Vodafone, running on Windows Mobile 5.0., for the Hong Kong market. "We are pleased to partner with Palm and Microsoft, two industry leaders, in launching the Treo 750v," said Mr. Douglas Li, Chief Executive Officer of SmarTone-Vodafone. "The Treo 750v continues to provide the hallmark Palm ease of use experience. Together with our Vodafone Business Email, customers can now stay productive while on the go. This is another way we help our customers do business without compromise." The new Treo 750v, exclusive to SmarTone-Vodafone, combines phone, email, messaging and web applications(1) in one single device, which is extremely easy to use."
Hong Kong (via SmarTone-Vodafone) is the latest country to pick up the Treo 750v. Retail pricing is HK$5,980 (or $US$769), though you can knock off HK$1,300 by subscribing to a Vodafone Business E-mail or 3G data plan for 15 months.

I emailed Vodafone Australia last night about the 750v, and their response was that they don't have any release details for it yet. I asked them why it had been released in Europe, Hong Kong and New Zealand but not here, and they resent their first email.

Actually there are parallel imported 750v's already [1 week ago when I was there] in Wan Chai Computer center so your probably right MitchellO

:clap: Very cool. However, imo, $900CAD is a bit steep. Too bad Mad Monkey Boys Gadgets doesn't have it as they're generally cheap as far as price goes.

very steep indeed for a device that doesn't have wifi, but then again it will have UMTS [it's not yet HSDPA but I read somewhere there is already an unofficial patch/hack for this] so if you have a nice data plan loosing out on WiFi will be a non-issue.
