GPS Passion Reviews Tom Tom Navigator 6
"Tom Tom is one of those names that have been around the GPS business for quite a while. They�ve had some excellent products and they�ve even produced a dud or two. Tom Tom Navigator 6 is the latest in their software lineup for PDAs. Although it�s not commercially available in the United States yet, I had the opportunity to evaluate its functionality and the current U.S. maps that come with it. Tom Tom 5 has been one of my primary navigation tools for the past year or so and I was anxious to see what improvements had been made."

It's interesting to see how GPS software progresses.
I'm also eager to see what becomes of version 6 of OnCourse Navigator that's due sometime in the first half of November.

Ostia
I have used the Ostia GPS system on my HP6315 via bluetooth for a couple of years and I have been reasonably happy; previously I had used the Garmin iQue 3600 PPC, but of course it's not a phone and the battery life is poor at best.
I now have a Treo 700w and I cannot find any GPS programs for this PPC so I have to carry my HP or iQue when I want GPS; is there now are will there be soon a program for the Treo?

I use Ostia, and I cannot say I am happy. Maybe it just in New York, but there's few mistakes that it makes in the NYC. And the most annoying thing is, when you look for an address, software asks you for a Zip Code! There's a thousand zip codes in New York, How should I know all of them? Try to find 980 Park ave, or 1260 Broadway, and see how many zips you will go through before you find it. I believe that Nav software should be user friendly, and not only to a postman.

I believe the online business I spoke with misinformed me about OCN. It seems OCN is not going to be made anymore - so no version 6, afterall.
Time will tell for sure, but it looks like OCN's days are over.
Well, there's always iGuidance software.
