Default Retro Headset Goes Bluetooth!

http://www.thinkgeek.com/gadgets/electronic/8928/

"We have taken the ever-popular Retro Handset and updated it to connect to your cell phone using Bluetooth technology. That's right! No more tangled up phone cord. Now people will think you're really crazy talking into a old-time handset connected to... nothing. Oh, and speaking of nothing, there's nothing out there quite like this handset because this product is a ThinkGeek original design..."

You know... this is actually pretty darn cool. And it's not expensive. Hmm, tempting. Have a good weekend!

That's really cool! I'd love to try one of these out just for kicks. I actually still have a rotary phone in my house I still use to answer calls. I can no longer dial with it though as I switched to touch tone a few months ago.

These were the best handsets ever. Remember the shoulder rest you could clamp on. With one of those I could have a smoke and pen in one hand, a coffee in the other and crank out some serious business through the day. The real bonus with them was that when you got really made at someone on the phone, you could throw it against the wall, pick it up and still yell at them.......Man. those were the days, eh!

This could make Skype feel positively old fashioned :P

The best use of Bluetooth I've seen in ages.

I was wondering why a manufacturer hadn't come out with a cell-phone that was the size of a regular phone, cause some people like the larger size phones. This is an even better implementation since it can be used with any cell phone.

I just got one of these. Paired fine with my Cingular 3125 and the sound quality is good. I don't know about the battery life yet, but I'm going to have a lot of fun with it. It comes with a usb/mini-usb cable for charging. I live in NJ and got it the day after I ordered it. No volume control or other fancy features, but very comfortable to use in a long conversation.

Sure thing! I can hear the theme song used for the commercial now:

"Don't you step on my blue(tooth) suede shoes...!"

This is definitely cool! Maybe I like it so much because it epitomizes the whole "W?BIC!" lifestyle I try so hard to demonstrate! This is definitely going on my Christmas Wish List -- I can see myself using it with my notebook Skype setup already.

Now, where can I find a phone with a real rotary dial?

Oh yea... just placed my order. This is going on my desk at work on top of an old rotary style phone I have lying around in the equipment closet. Should really freak out my students & my advisor! Awesome.
