Default Iambic Inc. Aquires Two Peaks Software

http://www.iambic.com/twopeaks/

"Two Peaks Software Solutions has been acquired by iambic, Inc. In particular, all software titles (with the exception of FlexWallet, which was acquired by WebIS, Inc. in January 2006) as well as all the other assets previously owned and developed by Two Peaks Software Solutions are now fully owned by iambic, Inc. Since the beginning, iambic has strived to meet and exceed the needs and expectations of its many software users and the industry as a whole. We adhere to the strictest standards, focus on research and development, create the most comprehensive and intuitive applications possible, and work on constantly improving the products within our portfolio. With that in mind, we are now in the process of updating the titles acquired from Two Peaks, including: Personal Vehicle Manager, TravelTalk, EzQuote, Personal Health & Diet Manager and TripTracker. These programs will be available for download and purchase from the iambic website within a few weeks."

Two Peaks was one of the best Windows Mobile development companies that ever existed, so I was disappointed when the founder, Mel Sampat, went to work for Microsoft. But hey, I can certainly understand the appeal of a regular paycheque. ;-) FlexWallet, my #1 favourite application of all time on Windows Mobile, got sold to WebIS. I know Alex personally and knew he'd do a good job with it. Today, the other shoe dropped, with Iambic acquiring the remaining pieces of Two Peaks. I've never used an Iambic product before, so I can't say how this will play out - but I hope they continue to keep the quality of the products high, just like Two Peaks did.

This seems like GREAT news......I've been longing for Trip tracker to be compatible with Windows Mobile 5 for a LONG time! There's nothing else availible for the PPC that's as simple yet powerful.

Also, Bill Rate has been in need of some updates, although that program wasn't specifically mentioned in the press release.

Anyway, I, for one, am very excited about this!

I hadn't heard about Mel's move, so this must be good news for him -- although it's never easy to let your "baby" move on to other pastures. I always liked TripTracker because of its thoroughness; I hope Iambic keeps it alive and well for a long time.

Best of luck, Mel!

I had known for a long time that Mel was at Microsoft, but their product line had nothing happening with it, other than WebIS buying FlexWallet. Hopefully this'll give the Two Peaks products the boost they deserve.

Hi,

just wanted to say thank you to Jason for having posted this news both here on ppcthoughts as well as on smthoughts. It definitely helps to let current and prospect users know that the former Two Peaks products will soon be available again.

On another note, we plan to re-release all of them, the ones mentioned in the web page above are just a small subset. After the initial release we'll keep working on them to add new features, functionalities, and have them become at all effects part of the iambic family of products.

If you wish to be notified as soon as they start to be available head over to our forums where there's a thread you can subscribe to for release notifications.

Cheers,

- Adriano
