Internet radio has become more and more popular via the PC. Now, Geodesic attempts to grow its popularity on the mobile platform with Mundu Radio. Bewarned that this is currently in beta, so the standard precautions apply here. At this time, their support for Windows Mobile is limited to Windows Mobile 5 or Windows Mobile 2003SE devices (no mention of Smartphone support). Certain Palm and Symbian devices are also supported. Anyone manage to try this? Let us know.

Not bad over GPRS (EDGE)
I downloaded and installed on my imate K-JAM (HTC Wizard) fine, taking up 2.9MB once installed. The website is easy enough to use, and managing your playlist is simple enough. I connected using EDGE, and picked a station to listen to - in this case, Virgin Radio Classic Rock.
It came through at 24kbps, and took about 2 minutes to buffer. However, once it had buffered, Metallica wafted smoothly from my phone speakers in 24kbps quality! 8O
Not bad. I can't be too sure what my data costs will be at the end of the month, but this program is simple enough to use (left and right D-pad controls volume, and the D-pad button stops/starts the stream) that I'll be listening quite a bit.
Although I haven't exactly figured out which streaming radio stations can be added yet, I think this could be a good app to keep around.

I can't see more to this program than a fancied up directory of low bitrate radio stations.
Could be convenient data collection for those with a GPRS account and unlimited data. Anyone else would probably find better solutions.
Is there anything else here?

problems
Hmmmm,... I am having problems with Mundu. I have a Cingular 8125 with no data plan, so I am using Wi-Fi.
I get an "error connecting to server" message on every station. Also, on my pc I have added a few radio stations to my "playlist", but when I try to update the playlists on my 8125, it gives me another error message "failed to retrieve playlists from music server".
Now with http://www.thestreamcenter.com/pda/, it works great, but I cannot figure out how to add stations that are not on their list. Anyone know how to do that? Also, buffer times for me on Wi-fi through TCPMP was about 20 seconds.

Does anyone know if there is a fix to the problem (if anyone uses this program) of not being able to receive incoming calls when listening to streaming music? I really like the program, but of course can't use it if all my calls are going to be sent right into voicemail. I'm using a Moto MPX300, wm2003se.
