Default MrPalm Previews the O2 Stealth

http://www.mrpalm.com/o2stealth.php

"Today Ill be taking a look at the retail version of O2 XDA Stealth with its final firmware. O2 Stealth is one of the high-end tri-band GSM PDA phone include a 2.4-inch TFT LCD, 2.0 megapixel camera with Flash and macro mode, 192MB ROM, 64MB RAM, Mobile Direct Push technology, polyphonic ringtones. Staying connected is easy thanks to support for WLAN, Bluetooth, GPRS, IrDA and miniUSB."

News broke on O2's latest PDA phone last week, and MrPalm is first off the mark with real live photos. Nice to see IrDA still available and I like the fact that it's got a jog dial (it's no scroll wheel, but hey, beggers can't be choosers!). The matte black look is a bit dull, but I'd imagine the final production sets will have spruced up graphics, or at least I can hope so.

Those buttons under the screen sure are huge. I wonder if they could have made them smaller, made the device just a tad wider, and replaced that 2.4" LCD with a 2.8".

I truly hope those buttons are backlit - if not, that may explain why they're so big. Still, it seems a strange design decision, unless Gigabyte got a cheaper price on the 2.4" screen?

Are their users planning on traveling to the US? if not, why not stick with European dual band?

My feeling is that this is an O2 Asia-only device (where O2 is a pure retailer) - so tri-band would be appropriate.

From what I've heard, designing a quadband antenna is much harder to do right than triband. <shrug>
