Default O2 Prepares New Windows Mobile Slider PDA Phone

http://www.cnet.com.au/pdas/pdas/0,...39271030,00.htm

"Scheduled for release in Australia towards the end of September, the O2 Xda Stealth is so new that, at the time of writing this story, the product is nowhere to be found on O2's global website, or anywhere else on the Web for that matter (as far as we can see, at least)."

O2 seems to have filled the gap left by their leaving HTC as their ODM by ronding up more manufacturers - at least in Asia. After going with Quanta for the Atom, the XDA Stealth is a Gigabyte design with a sliding keyboard ala the HTC Blue Angel but with a difference - this baby is pretty trim and slim at 110 x 53 x 22.5mm and 140gms. Other features include a 2.4in QVGA screen, 2MP camera with flash, tri-band GSM, 802.11b/g, bluetooth, mini-SD slot, 64MB Ram and 192 MB ROM. It has also been submitted for FCC approval, though whether a US release is planned remains to be seen.

Nice device. I'm wondering if this should have been a Smartphone instead, though. I feel that a stylus kills the one-handed nature of a slider phone.

I hardly ever touch the screen on my 8125 and I has a slylus. I think I have taken it out maybe 5 times in the 3 months i've had it.

I think it will be fine with one hand use.

Ah, but the 8125 has a QWERTY keyboard. If one can T9 faster than they can touch-type/write, then I guess my point is moot.
