Default Hurricane Tracker

http://www.survivorsoft.com/

"Hurricane Tracker is a powerful application that closely monitors storms in the Atlantic Basin and Gulf of Mexico. Follow their path, download satellite imagery, and be prepared!"

It runs on Windows Mobile for Pocket PC 2003, 2003SE and WM5. It requires 4MB of installatoin space, which can be on the storage card. There is a demo, or you can buy it for $18.95.

Is it just me, or has the price of shareware really gone up a lot?

I think for up to $9.99 this could be handy, but $19??

I'd just open up a weather website on Pocket IE..

I really can't see paying $20 for something that any weather site will give me.

Well nice it has a today plugin but comeon.... $19.99

Also I don't see mention on where it gathers its data from? Is there an alternate if that site happens to be down?

Why don't they incorperate some kind of email notification system or Today plugin blinking alert system E.G. have a user prefence page to to say email me or activate the alert if the speeds go over X and the track is within X number of miles from my city?

I just see so many OTHER features I would love to see in this program if I was going to shell out $19.99 since I am in one of the prone Hurricane areas I just find this lacking.

- Intelligent caching only downloads new frames for animation.
- Image can be fit to the display or actual size.
- Image can be scrolled using the stylus or the directional pad.

- Radar has continuous loop with adjustable speed.
- Can clean up animation cache automatically on exit to save space.
