Default Laridian Starts Company Blog

http://blog.laridian.com/

Laridian Software, makers of PocketBible 3, has started a blog. There are just a few entries right now, but one of them breaks with tradition - they are normally very tight-lipped about upcoming releases of either software or books. They have mentioned three new translations in the works though with this blog, the New American Bible, Nuevo Versin Internacional, and the NET Bible. No - the latter isn't about Visual Studio 2007 or any other Microsoft technology.

I'm glad they are coming out with a Spanish translation. Their lack of non-English books is the complaint I hear most often about their library. Perhaps French, Italian, Russian, Chinese and other languages aren't far behind. Maybe they will even do a Hebrew and Greek version. I wonder of the Bible has ever been translated to Hebrew or Greek? Anyway, if their software is of interest, check it out. They have an RSS feed for the blog as well.

Wasn't it written in Hebrew? The Old Testament atleast. I think the new was written in Greek.

Note the smiley. Ed was being facetious. Believe me - I think Ed knows that!

I'm glad to see they're considering a Spanish version - I'd prefer the Reina-Valera 1960 as that's the version we use in my church, but any Spanish version at this point would be welcome. With version 4, they addressed all my concerns about the program itself. Now there's more to look foward to!
