Default Lil Sync Penguin Charger and Carrying Case

http://www.pocketpctechs.com/main~u...P-PENGUIN01.htm

"Traveling can be hectic enough without worrying about bringing all the chargers for your device along for the ride. Our Lil Sync Penguin Charger is the comprehensive solution to the hassle of multiple chargers. This new charger is a standard US AC adapter and automobile adapter in one. In addition, this adapter can be used along with our Lil Sync Airline Power Adapter to charge your device from the 12V EmPower Airline Power port available on many commercial airlines. The Lil Sync Penguin Charger makes charging your device from your home, car, office or airplane simple and convenient. With fold-out power pins and a hard plastic protective cap, this combination charger is perfect for travel."

Ok, tell me what isn't just the coolest-looking Pocket PC accessory you've ever seen? ;-) This looks like an awesome accessory, because it has dual functionality: it can accept USB input for charging, meaning any of the Lil' Sync cables you have, and can connect to a car lighter for power, or to a wall socket (there's also a European version for those of you on the other side of the pond from me). I've tried a device like this from another company, and the quality was severely lacking. I always find Pocket PC Techs gear to be of the highest quality, so I'm confident this one will rock and be well worth the $24.99 price tag. The PPC Techs folks have also released a new carrying case to keep all your power and sync cables together.

Boxwave has had the same product out for a long time now, except theirs is done in a nice smoked gray color:

I have one and it's worked well with various Pocket PC's, Smartphones, Bluetooth headsets, etc. It won't charge an iPod or a Motorola RAZR though.

Still, for what I paid (I think it was $14.95 at the time), it's a handy gadget.

Figures that I would have ordered a Boxwave Versacharger Pro last night at 1AM last night! I like the price yet I don't know if it has all the same as what I ordered for my imate JasJar. That's my only hope so I don't feel too bad about my timing!

Looks very similar to the Versacharger Pro

VersaCharger Pro Technical Specifications:
============================
AC/Wall Voltage Input: 100V to 240VAC 50  60 Hz 0.1A (variable)
DC/Car Voltage Input: 12V to 24V (variable)
Voltage Output: 5.3V  5.5VDC 400mA~1A

Lil' Sync Penguin Pro Technical Specifications:
============================
AC input of 100 ~ 240 V; DC output of 5.1 ~ 5.6 V
AUTO input of 12 ~ 24 V; DC output of 5.1 ~ 5.6 V
Current output of 1,000 mA 10%

Even the pictures are showing similar shape, light placement, etc.

There's even a better picture of it with the cap off on PPCTechs website that shows even better than this one.

Not sure if the same OEM but the Penguin looks similar and specs too but at a better price.

Hi Leonard. I apologize for jumping the gun. It looked like the same product in disguise.

No problem. They do look very similiar. But the std version only supported about 400-500 mA which is not enough to charge a lot of different devices.

Leonard...

Thanks for chiming in and I appreciate your patience in clarifying our musings. Not to be a suck up here but I always used/recommended PPCTech for I guess going on 4 years plus and even used you all this past month for some repair work. Regardless, I'd buy yours over another vendors any day as I can't say enough about your products and workmanship!

The good news is that I was able to cancel my order from late last night after reading the news posting this morning . So, unless I win one of these babies (which looks to be the same odds as winning the Powerball), I am definitely in on ordering one ASAP next week.

Thanks again!

I was really, really close to ordering a VersaCharger Pro, but it looks like I'll have to stop and think about it now.

Leonard, do you know how soon HandHeldCanada may be stocking this, if they do offer it?

The back and forth posts between Pocket PC Techs and Boxwave have been deleted - our forum is not the place for two companies to get into an argument about their products.
