Default Symbian Implementation of .NET CF

http://www.redfivelabs.com/Solution...53/Default.aspx

"Red Five Labs is about to launch a first public beta of its .NET Compact Framework runtime with class libraries for Symbian OS powered mobile devices. The beta will be compatible with Microsoft's 1.0 Compact Framework for Smartphones, and will run on S60 (previously Series 60) emulators and devices."

An interesting twist in the mobile device programming world. .NET CF is making it's way to S60 devices, and the Symbian OS. More info can be found in the Whitepaper. Now the only question that I have is: Will programmers embrace the opportunity, or will it cost too much money for too little of a gain (Given that Symbian OS already has a strong developer community)?

Default Hm..

I wonder what they used to implement this? Did they re-implement .NET, use mono/portable.net, or license it from ms?

I seriously doubt the first, so it'd be interesting to find out what was done.. (;

By the way: I'm very happy to see this!! I really like .NET and will be happy to be able to make my own programs to run on my portable phone/pdaphone, when I get one that is.. (;

Nothing. It was great. But they sucked us all in on the promise of free client software, then shortly later changed this to $30 per device i.e. anybody wanting to buy your software would have to pay them $30 for the client software :?
