AE Button Plus: Remapping To The Extreme
"This utility extends functionality of hardware keys on Windows Mobile devices. It allows you to intercept almost any standard button: application buttons, WM5 SoftKeys, Volume slider, Action and even Red/Green phone buttons, distinguish up to 4 different keypress events on each button grabbed (single, double, triple and "long" keypresses), [and] remap each of the keypress events to "virtual" application button or assign them directly to one of the wide set of built-in actions. As a result you may "convert" volume slider to up/down arrows, assign several essential application buttons to these "SoftKey" buttons and even assign your favorit alternative dialer to red/green phone buttons."

An interesting app that I've been playing with for a few hours now. Works as advertised on my Wizard, and is worth the $8 registration fee. Try it out and remap your buttons to whatever you like!

This is a great utility... WHEN IT WORKS...
I have it on my G500...I love it, except that it will not work after reboots sometimes. (and will require another reboot)

This app works really well on my 6700. I've setup the "ok" button to minimize the current program on a single press and close the current program wih a press and hold of the "ok" button. I also really like how you can assign a button to toggle vibrate mode on and off (like all the Treos have) so I am no longer missing that feature that my previous Treos had. I also assigned the volume slider to do a "copy" by sliding it down and a "paste" by sliding upwards, works great!

Kill my 8125
I installed the program, and now my 8125 does not work.
FYI.
Looks like I have to hard reset unless there is another option...

Working.... hum.
After like 15 soft resets, it started work again. My 8125 is working fine now with the program. I like it. Nice to have.

This seems like a really cool app, except for one problem: Any button that you map has a delayed reaction when you press it. For example, on my 6700 I had it override the "OK" button to close the application when you double-click it. (a single click just minimizes it) When I hit the OK button once to minimize, it takes a good extra second before it does anything. I'm sure this is because it's listening/waiting for any additional button presses.
Maybe not the fault of the app, but it's something I noticed right away and kind of irked me. WM5 is slow enough the way it is, the last thing I want is any additional delay.
I'm still going to keep playing with it though and see if I can get used to it.

I imagine the delay has to be their for it to wait and see if you are done pressing buttons since it can recognize multiple button presses.
