Coming Soon: Call of Duty 2 for the Pocket PC
"Call of Duty 2 is the 3D first-person shooter that puts players in the role of Allied soldiers assaulting the German front lines during World War II, in North Africa, during D-Day, and on the Russian Front, taking alternate roles as American, British and Russian soldiers."
Great news if you're a gamer: Aspyr Media has plans to bring the popular Xbox 360 and PC title, Call of Duty 2, to Pocket PCs powered by Intel's next-generation Monahans processor. No word yet on a release date, though we can expect it sometime later this year.

Interresting, I play COD2 alot on my PC.
COD2 needs some pretty good HW to run decently on PC.
The new breed of Intel's processor must be very good indeed
But the nb 1 problem with PPC gaming remains the lack of a descent control pad.
I can't imagine myself trying to compete on-line from my PPC, not a chance

If the graphics are decent, and the performance is fast, this could be very cool. But to date I've been very disappointed with every single port I've seen of a desktop PC game, so I'm a bit negative on how well this will turn out...

The interesting thing about Monahans is that it incorporates some features of the 2700G successor, so it should be significantly more powerful than any XScale we've ever seen. Add a GoForce or Imageon to that and we might see some better and smoother graphics. Of course, if only OEMs would get their act together... :grumble:

No, it's for a series of PDAs that aren't even released yet. We'll probably expect them later this year and next year.
Aspyr is going to leverage the power of the Monahans processors. Not even the Axim X50v/X51v use them.
