Mastersoft Kakuro Released
"Kakuro is the latest craze to come from the land of the rising sun. Infact it's a bigger hit in Japan than SuDoku ! Similar rules but much more addictive..."
The guy in the next cube making fun of you because he's up to the Very Hard level of SuDoku and you're only at Medium? Well, blow that guy away with your killer Kakuro skills. Kakuro, a game similar to SuDoku (Just a tiny bit harder) is now out, and if you've been following Mastersoft's beta, you know how addicting it can be. So even if you're not a geek, math-minded, or into puzzles, check out the trial version - you'll get hooked!

I'm a little hesitant to install it as 5+MB for the CAB file, without including another 4+MB for the latest .NET CF (does any manufacturer include v2.1+ in ROM yet?) seems intimidating for PDA software.

All I installed was the CAB file on both my Jasjar & K-JAM (Both running the Club i-mate AKU 2 release). I didn't have to download any additional .NET CF, so I assume all the parts I needed were in the CAB or ROM.
Jon.

Don't worry we don't use V2. We use V1 and most Pocket PC's have that in ROM

I misunderstood: on the website it says :
Quote:
NB This product uses Microsoft's Latest Compact Framework Technology. This is included in the ROM of new devices., however if you experience problems with 'MISSING COMPONENTS' then please install the latest version from HERE.

and I thought that meant v2, but the link provided does connect to the v1 Microsoft site.

It was good to see your comment as I wasn't sure we were doing the right thing sticking with V1, but I think we did. We'll move to V2 when it becomes much more widespread. In the meantime V1 does everything we need .... tho' it does use a lot of memory (but then it is very powerful).

Hmm. Just installed it tonight, and the game crashed out... since I'm running my PocketPC in Japanese/Chinese Regional Settingsto read Chinese webpages. Is it just a problem with .NET, or is something else happening?
Edit: Changed back to English (Canada) and it's showing fine now, and still reads Chinese.

It's a pity VGA-landscape is hardly supported by any game developer including Mastersoft. Should not be too difficult though, just a change of lay-out (s.a. scoring and options blocks on top or bottom of portrait mode games can be moved to the right when in landscape mode).
