Sprite Backup 5.1 Released
http://www.spritesoftware.com/
Just a quick heads up to those using Sprite Backup 5.0 for Windows Mobile 5 - they have recently released a .1 update to 5.1 which now allows the backup program to create self restoring backup files. This was a feature of previous releases but when they redid the application for WM5, that feature was postponed. Now, it is back.

Too late... went to the "other guy." But it is still good to hear that they are catching up.

With all the WM5 patches now slipping out I think this newly restored feature is bigger:
Quote:
Upgrade Mode: This new feature allows restore operations between identical devices with different ROM versions. In order to use upgrade mode, you will need to use the Upgrade data tool that can be obtained from our support site.

Too bad their support will probably still stink. They lost me - I might come back if I start hearing of better support.

Was this the update from 5.0 to 5.1 you're talking about or a newer 5.1.1 update? (Not sure since you said they added a .1 to 5.1) I don't see anything on their website about a 5.1.1 update.

Upgrade mode is the kicker for me as well. While I too went with the 'other guy', I may just use Sprite for ROM upgrades. On the other hand, this may be enough to make me jump ship altogether. Don't know. Either way the upgrade feature has saved me hours in the past.

Hi guys,
After upgrading my "About" screen says "version 5.0.1, build 1332". So is this 5.1 or 5.0.1?
Thanks.

Hi guys,
I forgot that the original version got installed twice: into main and into SD. It seems that uninstall was only removing the version in the main memory. I had fixed it now and updated to 5.1.
Thanks.
