IE Mobile Supports AJAX
"I have been asked about AJAX development support for Internet Explorer Mobile (running on Windows Mobile-based devices). The short answer is: YES, IE Mobile on Windows Mobile 2003 and later supports AJAX!...If you are wondering how you can use AJAX on your website and have it function well from your Windows Mobile browser, here are a couple things you should know..."
I haven't seen any mobile sites use AJAX, but it could be a compelling scenario for organizations that are primarily Pocket PC-specific. Alas, I'm not sure we'll see universal mobile adoption because I suspect many cell phones' browsers are too simple at the moment to handle any form of DHTML.

For those in Vegas at MEDC right now, we will be delivering a session on this and some other capabilities of IE Mobile in a session called "Extending Your Experience to Internet Explorer Mobile" in Venetian F on Wednesday at 5pm.

Local AJAX homepage
Just this weekend I wrote a little bit of AJAX for Mobile IE. I wanted a local homepage that could load when I start IE and give me access to most of the services I use.
So from that homepage, I can get to:- My del.icio.us tags
My del.icio.us bookmarks tagged as 'mobilefavorites'
My favorite RSS feeds
And some standard "bookmarks"
I've also set it up so I can go to the full webpages or view them via Google's gwt.
If anyone would like to have a play with my code, I've put a copy in the Universal forum at forum.xda-developers.com
